Exhaustion and no cell service had postponed the blog for a few days. On July 11th we went to San Francisco via ferry 1 hour 10 minute ride. It was nice - no fighting traffic or paying $30.00 for parking. Walked along the pier and took a cable car ride. As we sat on the cable cars, there was an emergency on the route and we had to wait almost an hour, but it was well worth it. Pennsy and Donna hung on the outside of the cable car and you should have seen Pat's face when we passed traffic - it was real close and you had to lean in. The streets are straight up and down. We passed Lombard Street - the crookest street in the world. After a nice seafood lupper on the pier, we saw the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and all the sites (strange people and outfits) along our walk. Then a ferry ride back to our campground.
