July 3, 2013 Day 26

Sunny    66 - 87    Glacier Campground - West Glacier, Montana

In Glacier National Park we drove to "Going to the Sun Road" which just opened last week.  It is suppose to be the most beautiful scenery in the U.S. - I believe it.  The largest and fastest waterfalls,  I have ever seen and so many everywhere you look.  Absolutely gorgeous views.  At Logan Pass 6,646'   I touched a glacier  (? snow pile).  Going-to-the Sun-Road is also called Crown of the Continent.  At the Continent Divide water falling to the west of the divide drains to the Pacific Ocean,  to the east it flows toward the Atlantic Ocean.  Pennsy, Nancy and Bob started to hike over the snow to the Hidden Lake Outlook but turned around after awhile (their feet were cold and it became very steep in the snow).  By 2030 there is not suppose to be any glaciers left in Glacier National Park.

A rushing waterfall - gorgeous!
